WHO WAS CAPTAIN RALPH?

Ralph Precious called Muskegon, Michigan his hometown for 31 years. As Muskegon County Administrator from 1972 to 1985, he was proud of his many contributions such as creating Heritage Landing, a popular shoreline recreational park, from a dump site. He went on to oversee the construction of the original wastewater system in Muskegon.

When most people would have been happy to retire, Ralph became a Captain & launched the successful Port City Princess cruise ship with wife, Sylvia & son, Randy, giving many people the opportunity to enjoy our beautiful lakes as well as bringing tourism to Muskegon from many different states. He was also an avid coffee drinker. It’s in his spirit of entrepreneurship and responsible stewardship that Captain Ralph’s Coffee was founded by his granddaughter, Morgan.
